Nobody wants worn out shoes. Who wouldn't?<br />it looks bad on the outside, and looks more bad in the inside.<br />If you ask people what to do with that shoe, they will tell you to throw it away!<br />but for a person who has worn out that shoe, he never realizes how important that shoe is to him that goes with him all the directions of his journey.. his adventures, his life, his travels..<br /><br />That is what I learned from this year...<br />A worn out shoe never boasts of his travels, but is always proud that he has taken that journey.<br />This year - I lost opportunities.<br />I lost some faith.<br />I lost amounts of money.<br />I lost some friends.<br />I lost things.<br />worst of all, I lost a life.<br /><br />yes, this cycle would not stop.<br />But HOPE will always come.<br />Looking at the other side of the glass - it's the journey that makes it worthwhile, not the pain.<br />God has never allowed a problem into someone's life without knowing how to resolve it.<br />Because God never invented HOPE, God made it.<br /><br />That's why shoes are never made to not to be worn out.<br />It's suppose to be worn out, because of the journey it took - be it bad or good.<br />And the person who worn out this shoe will always remember, where this shoes had lead him.<br /><br />God, Thanks for the Journey . It was all worthwhile. And it was our family's worst tragedy.</div><div>My mother-in-law suddenly died of stroke but with a cause that we never know when it began.</div><div> </div><div>I thought I have seen enough deaths in my life to see and comprehend the destruction it has been making in every human life. </div><div>Last year, one of my best friend died in a car accident. This year was my mom. </div><div><br /></div><div>I wish to say and hope that that this would be the last. But death is a traitor, and a hardcore psychopath. It has no emotions, no mercy, and no respect. This weekend I learned the true meaning of Grace. I experienced the biggest ordeal I have ever faced in the whole 20 years of my career. Now I know why Grace is important. It doesn't matter whether you are good or bad, right or wrong. The real value of Grace is that it is there. And your faith will determine how important Grace is to your whole life. As the verse shows in the Bilbe - as long that sunshine and rain falls into the Good and the Wicked, then we must believe that Grace is also bestowed to the Good and the Bad People. Grace is always there for us. God had paid the price for our sins. It is like a Flame Extinguisher. You will never know when you need it, but you are always confident and faithful that you can rely on it when trouble comes. Or else if mechanism fails, you know that you are already out of hope, and you feel like your faith has been invested nowhere. As I know now - Grace, Faith and Hope are almost as one. The Bigger the Faith, the Greater the Grace you rely on and the bigger Hope you believe upon. We lost a man in our unit - as they say.<br /><br />He was my childhood friend and a good buddy. We have lots of adventures together, and we never had a dull time doing all the things we like.<br /><br />A good friend is always hard to find. A loyal friend is harder to get.<br /><br />My friend died a few months ago, this is my first time to really feel the pain of losing an important person other than a close relative. He left behind an only son, which pains me so much that he had to die on a younger age and leaving an orphaned child alone in this world.<br /><br />He died together with his wife in a tragic car accident.<br />Looking at the vivid pictures of his accident makes me feel a whole lot of helplessness looking small in this vast universe. You can observe from his closed eyes and sad face that although he was looking for help during his last breathe, he was thinking of his only child and how he would leave him behind, longingly, as if asking help from his dear friends and loved ones to take over and take care of the child - his only treasure on earth.<br /><br />In my mind, I know, if he would have survived that accident, he would come out smiling and tell of the adventurous tales he would have encountered. But alas, his wounds and fragile body couldn't take much from the tragedy that befall him together with his beloved spouse.<br /><br />Imagine the picture of a 7-yr old boy in between two white coffins, with his young face all no emotions, staring blankly at the people trying to put a friendly smile. It was like a picture drawn from a dark comic book of Batman, where little boy Bruce Wayne takes a picture with his murdered parents with all the hype and hysteria around.<br /><br />During the burial, I couldn't help but notice that even though it was a short distance to walk, I realized that it was the longest trek I have ever made in my life. Those few steps I take of following the hearse, were like every picture unfolding to me of the greatest adventures in my life, lost in memory together done long ago with my friends.<br /><br />It was the loneliest and darkest funeral I have ever encountered, as we lay his body to his final resting place. It never occured to me that it was more than 10 years ago that the millennium hype have already passed, and it seems a lot of things have come and gone that I seem to realize a lot of things can change in a span of a year and much more than in 10 years. This decade only gives me the thought of reminiscing my grandmother who have survived time all throughout. I remember the time ,come year 2000 I was there with her watching the world in awe in TV for the millennium. And now 10 years after, Lola has passed, but me and my wife are quietly celebrating in the house with our friends. No fireworks, just quietness inside and out, and perhaps celebrating New Year virtually in the Web world. This is a good indication to reminisce the challenges and victories we have faced through the year and the past decade. More to say, after all the big events of the decade WE DID SURVIVED Y2K, coz here we are 10 years after... US women's soccer, Mia Hamm, etc.).<br /><br />I'm more of a Brazil fan but they lost to France in the Quarterfinals, but I'm glad France didn't win the world cup either, too bad for Zidane which was given a red card after losing his temper.<br /><br />All my favorites have been eliminated during the quarterfinals and semifinals - I was routing for Argentina and Germany also. Anyways, my friend Lowell got me hooked into watching every world cup game since the beginning because he knows all the players from the European leagues. TOTOY BIBBO!!! of course<br /> Vhong Navarro!!! and who's the chick? wait, wait... syeeett..<br /> DIANA ZUBIRI!!! tindi pare, gandang chick, si Diana nga!!!!!<br /> Pati Baybee ko kinilig!!!!! hmmm, parang lalaki baybee ko ah..<br />03/24 7:00AM - passed by Subic Bay, and San Antonio - Baybee's Hometown, said Hi to<br /> her Tita but not the Tito - bad blood I see... and then...<br /> we saw Pia at PMMA barracks in San Narciso!!! we were all glad<br /> we saw each other...<br />03/24 9:00AM - Pia cried, as if she wanted to go or don't want to go, ayaw yata ng<br /> Nanay niya ipasama, the little lady cried so much... anyways,<br /> Pa almost cried...
